Welcome to Lothlorien, my private little domain on the Internet!

Lothlorien is the name of the elvish forest which Lady Galadriel lived in, according to J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings". It was supposed to be the fairest of all of the elvish forest on Middle Earth. I am Tolkien fan, and also a elf lover, so I choose this name. I use many Tolkien names for machines, including Moria and Mirkwood (other machines on lothlorien.net).

This little greeting was supposed to be updated regularly, but things have become a little hectic here on Lothlorien. The system was total destroyed in June 1998 (along with my apartment) by a direct lightening stike to my apartment. It has since grown back up a a new Dell Poweredge 2300 running Linux on a dedicated ISDN circuit. With all of the growing of the system has also come a change in purpose. The system now serves as a development center for both my own software creations (for work and play) as well as those of other individuals on the system.

A short note for those of you sent here looking for lothlorien.org... it and lothlorien.net are now the same place. It appears the former tenant of lothlorien.org didn't pay the upkeep cost, so I picked up the name in 1999.
